Unit 10: Going shopping
Price and bargaining. Buying school supplies and clothes. Expressing needs and preferences.
The unit lasts for 5 days.
Objectives
Students will be able to:
- Talk about clothing and school supplies
- Talk about prices, i.e. obtain information
- Express preferences, likes and dislikes
- Talk about buying gifts
- Create an advertisement for a favorite store
Lessons
Meeting the Language Learning Continuum
- Students will understand several ideas and details presented in clear, simple speech when listening to the teacher
- Students will understand and convey information about self and beyond self
- Students will demonstrate Stage One and Two functions in communicating in simple sentences when face to face with others--with some hesitation and mistakes that do not hinder effective comprehension
